A useful bar with a serious following of locals who come for a glass or two but stay for a bottle. Many venture into the depths of its encyclopaedic cocktail list, rising only to consult the menu of global tapas, burgers, chips & suchlike when they get the munchies. Early in the week it’s quite a laid-back spot, with Motown classics playing at a reasonable volume so that you can still chat. But as the weekend approaches the volume goes up & the beat gets stronger. If it’s too loud, you’re too old.
