Square Meal review of La Cave:
Nestled under London Bridge, this cosy & romantic bistro gains a pleasant outdoor terrace in summer. Despite the classic French feel of the brick & cobblestones, the food is more adventurous than grandmere might dish up. Start with a tatin of fennel & tomato served with a goats’ cheese quenelle & follow with sea bass & bone marrow, or tea-infused duck breast with petit pois & bacon. If these dishes – at between £15 & £20 for a main – are a bit much, try the tapas in the wine bar. Wine is a focus, with the list ranging further than France & the restaurant offers regular tasting sessions, too.
