For a true flavour of Istanbul, this Lewisham stalwart never fails to deliver. And we’re not just talking aubergines & hoummos here. An adoring local crowd gathered at neatly set tables looks on expectantly as chefs from the open kitchen turn out a fine array of kebabs, pideler (oven dishes), mezze favourites & much more. Though more of a relaxed hangout by day, the prices are easygoing at all times. Expect to pay around £10 for succulent skewers of seasoned lamb & chicken, or £5 for pizza-style pides of meat & veg. The accommodating waiters help you chose from an exclusively Turkish wine list.
