‘Great place, amazing time’, raves a fan of this independent bar and brasserie close to London Bridge, which keeps things honest with sociable food, decently priced wines by the glass and a terrific alfresco area complete with heated umbrellas. Inside, the glass-walled venue offers ample room for people-watching over a cup of coffee and a croque monsieur, while the full menu wheels out small and large plates designed for sharing – anything from warm potato-and-chorizo salad, or fishcakes with smoked-paprika mayo to porcini ravioli with thyme butter, steak burgers with chips, or mixed mezze bonanzas. There’s also a choice of sandwiches and sweets such as blackberry and apple crumble with custard. Staff are friendly yet unobtrusive, an asset considering the number of breakfast meetings and brainstorming laptop sessions held here.
