Davy’s is a canny operator – where better to put a branch than in the centre of BBC land with all those thirsty journalists to cater for? More a private drinking & dining club for media people than a destination, this useful wine bar nevertheless has all the elements in place: a sturdy wine list, simple food that doesn’t require too much concentration to eat, polite & engaging service & a comfortable space, which, if less olde worlde than other branches, echoes its older siblings with dark furniture & barrel-ceilinged private room.
