The menu changes daily at this attractively turned out bistro & the reports also seem to vary by the day: some claim the ‘relaxed’ ambience & ‘excellent’ menu make it great for romantic tete-a-tetes & small gatherings of friends, while others bemoan irregular service & inconsistent cooking. On our last visit, there was little to complain about: a salad of smoked eel came with fiery watercress & a silky-soft horseradish cream, while confit of duck offset with braised cabbage was given extra oomph by Morteaux sausage. The menu invariably includes a great selection of shellfish from palourdes & razor clams to a well-filled seafood platter & there’s a decent French wine list to match. The kids’ menu & the kids’ Sunday movie in the private room downstairs are a boon to local families, as is the smart, attractive deli next door.
