Square Meal review of Kew Grill:
You have to be looking for this bare brick steakhouse tucked away just off Kew Green to find it, but plenty of diners do: first, because of its celebrity chef credentials – this is one of Antony Worrall Thompson’s restaurants (see also Barnes Grill) & secondly, because of its unassailable promise of meat that’s ‘well bred, well fed, well hung’. For a steak lover, this is paradise – classic British cuts from Aberdeen Angus that’s hung for 35 days, cooked as ordered & served traditionally with chips & sauces ranging from bearnaise to pepper. With a prawn cocktail to start & chocolate sundae to round off the meal, who could ask for anything more? Fish eaters are reasonably well served, but a vegetarian might be distinctly down in the mouth after dinner.
