Malachite at The Bentley London

An opulent lounge in the Waldorf Astoria-owned Bentley London, Malachite is a cocktail bar in the traditional sense with luxury furnishings & comfortable seats rather than wall-to-wall optics & ‘two-for-one deals’. A jazz pianist is often on hand to lend some 1920s’ glamour to proceedings, while businessmen, well-off tourists & hotel guests pick their way through a comprehensive drinks menu that encompasses familiar mixes as well as a few more inventive concoctions. Martinis are certainly worth a try, especially the house special Malachite or one of the new gem-themed creations including opal, emerald & ruby. More traditional cocktails such as gin fizz, caipirinha or Manhattan are also on offer. A modest mezze menu is available for grazing, while afternoon tea with a tall glass of Pimm’s is a summertime treat.
