Fans of this stylish Blackheath eatery & bar won’t be disappointed by the past year’s change of ownership. The few changes are to the good: the dramatic & moody decor continues to evolve, there’s a new private dining room on the ground floor, & opening times have been extended to encompass weekday lunches & jazz Sundays. There’s a decent a la carte, or a £16.95 three-course set menu that represents terrific value. On it, you might find a flavoursome vegetable antipasti served with delicious homemade bread, & mains such as roast salmon fillet on spinach pepped up by a balsamic sauce. Nothing fancy, but all well handled. There’s an extensive wine list to get stuck into, though a friendly waiter might well talk you into a cocktail or two. Monday steak nights are hugely popular.
