Edera

Traditional Italian hospitality is clipped, polished & given a west London gloss within the subtly smart confines of this ever-popular little restaurant. A finely honed, customer-friendly approach has been key to Edera’s success. Doors remain open all day, tables aren’t turned & the tried-&-tested trattoria menu lends itself as readily to a quick drop-in as a five-course extravaganza. The kitchen makes a good fist of the familiar favourites – aubergine parmigiana to start, seafood risotto or veal milanese to follow – but the authentic Sardinian dishes (such as chunky malloreddus pasta with sausage, & a seafood fregola) are rendered with the most heart. Top it off with tiramisu or a virtuous fruit salad, & glug something from the all-Italian wine list. Summer evenings here are particularly busy with the pre/post-opera crowd, but everyone is looked after by efficient service that’s more formal than the food.
