‘Excellent creative modern cooking, retaining the virtues of traditional Italian food’ keeps the Holland Park locals coming back to Edera. Melt-in-the-mouth buffalo mozzarella is served in a bath of zesty olive oil & topped off with pesto, while the signature starter of malloreddus sees the plump, dumpling-like pasta lightly doused in a delicate sausage, saffron, pecorino & tomato sauce. Continue with a plate of char-grilled tuna with pepper sauce & spinach or a tender char-grilled fillet steak, served with fragrant black truffles shaved at the table. To finish, the oh-so-delicate strawberry tart with chocolate sauce seemed to match the essence of the service – effortless, well considered & totally balanced. The interiors – all low lighting & minimalism – are very much in the same modern Italian mould, while the extensive all-Italian wine list runs to 150 bins.
