Soul-pop in the Joss Stone mould sets the tone for this tastefully shabby gastropub – an on-trend mix of sprung suede chairs, scrubbed tables, & windowsills adorned with bottles of Pol Roger. Frequented by office workers during the day & locals at night, this boozer from the Geronimo Inns chain nails the personal touch – note the photos of the Physic Garden & Chelsea pensioners about town. Elsewhere, rich mustard tones, rustic woods & bold patterns set the mood in the warmly decorated dining room, where dishes could include spiced crayfish & avocado salad with sweetcorn salsa or char-grilled burger with aged Cheddar, skinny fries & relish, plus rhubarb strudel to finish. The knowledgeable wine list, selected by John Clevely MW, is an accessible slate with virtually everything available by the glass.
