Square Meal review of The Phoenix:
It’s a lucky bunch of residents who get The Phoenix as their local. Now part of the Geronimo Inns chain, it’s a charming pub in the heart of neighbourhood Chelsea, full of mismatched, faux-distressed furniture & colourful pieces of modern art. Reflecting the la-di-da locale, food goes a little beyond the usual pub fare brief – think black pudding & chorizo salad with quails’ eggs & roast rack of salt-marsh lamb with rosemary hollandaise – though it’s not always quite as tasty as it sounds. No such inconsistencies on the nicely rounded, well-priced wine list, however.
