Cramped tables & high noise levels are common complaints at laid-back De Cecco, but the food seems to consistently satisfy. Uncomplicated, old-fashioned eats feature alongside more inventive dishes: think classic Parma ham with melon or osso bucco, as well as zesty tuna carpaccio with avocado salsa, or rich duck ragu drizzled with truffle oil. Lunch & early evening set menus (£12.95 for two courses) provide added value, but it’s the eager, upbeat staff & buzzing atmosphere that add the killer touch.
