The last stop on increasingly trendy Bermondsey Street, this laid-back restaurant has many virtues – not least its 20-something buzz & sun-kissed, Med-style food at decent prices. For under a tenner, you might enjoy a bowl of fettuccine with English asparagus & lemon or a sun-dried tomato, spinach & cream cheese risotto from the daily menu. It’s also worth ordering anything that has been shown the charcoal grill, such as squid with a Mediterranean vegetable & rocket salad, while the mainstay of the dessert list is a rather virtuous Valrhona chocolate pudding with crème fraîche, which procures a 50p donation towards charity Action Against Hunger. In the evenings, try to grab a seat at the bar for cocktails & tapas-style nibbles. Weekend brunch is a less reliable call, judging by some critical notes.
