The Bollo Pub & Dining Room

The Bollo used to have a reputation as a foodie destination, but while these days it’s more run-of-the-mill gastro, it’s still a deservedly popular local, with an attractive scruffiness. Prop up the bar with a pint of IPA or Budvar or choose from the eclectic, global wine list with 10 or so by the glass & a couple more under £20. Food is basic gastropub grub done reasonably well: risottos, calf’s liver & bacon, burgers & confit duck with watercress & pea shoot salad all feature, portions being generous & service both friendly & relaxed. The set lunches & half-price dinner on Monday night are absolute bargains.
