Decked out like an old-school pizzeria, with peach walls & ornate plastering trying to recapture the spirit of Tuscany, this happy-go-lucky trattoria is part of the Made in Italy chain, famed for its ‘pizzametro’ – wood-fired pizzas ‘by the metre’. You might get a touch more modernity at your local chain, but this is a chirpy reminder of pizza joints before the corporates moved in. Start off with a special of scallops wrapped in Parma ham, before heading straight for the pizzametro – which literally arrives by the metre if two guests opt for the same list of toppings. If pizza isn’t your thing, a solid line-up of pastas is also on offer – perhaps linguine with clams, mussels & tiger prawns. Desserts are predictably patriotic, as is the wine selection.
