This wine bar & bistro in a residential neighbourhood serves decently priced food & wine in simple yet atmospheric surrounds, packed with appreciative locals. The look may be French (as is much of the wine list), but the menu caters to British tastes in dishes such as the pigeon breast with crispy bacon on minted peas & the trio of fishcakes with salsa, salad & chips. Roast chicken or duck are specialities that, although rustic rather than refined, never disappoint – rather like the charming staff.
