The Red Bar

The seductive Red Bar is all moody lighting, oriental screens, antiques & candlelit tables, housed at the top of the beautiful townhouse that is also home to Bam-Bou (see review) – just the spot for a romantic encounter. Set the mood with something from the impressive cocktail list – perhaps a ‘colonial’ (Champagne, lemongrass & ginger syrup with Stolichnaya), then try your luck with the invitingly titled me love you long time (Morgan spiced rum, fresh blackberries, mango, lychee & passion fruit juices & blackberry purée). The mixologists can also conjure up anything from the signature Bam-Bou (Stolichnaya with fresh blackberries, raspberries & lime) to seven sorts of perfectly shaken martini. Bar bites include B-B standards such as steamed edamame with spiced sea salt, sticky sesame pork skewers & crispy shrimp rolls with nuoc cham dressing.
