Some charge Browns with being bland & unexciting, but it’s precisely this predictable nature that makes it such a popular sanctuary for shoppers, suits, families & couples. The menu, like the attractive brasserie-style surrounds, is unthreatening, featuring the likes of steaks, salads, pies, pastas, puds & breakfasts. It’s a safe, good-value bet, with breakfast served until noon & afternoon tea from 2pm to 5.30pm.
