The Garrison

The Garrison is one of the most established gastropubs in newly trendy Bermondsey & is deservedly popular. But that means it’s rammed with trendy young south Londoners, so don’t go there looking for a quiet night. If, however, you covet a vibrant atmosphere & above-average pub grub – Jerusalem artichoke soup, a hearty portion of shepherd’s pie & a delightfully retro sticky toffee pudding are par for the course – this might be your kind of place. The Garrison is also a good spot for a lighter lunch – think upmarket sarnies & salads – or even breakfast. The wine list punches above its weight, too. A note of caution, though: service can be high-handed, especially on busy evenings.
