Square Meal review of Haz:

The mouth-watering smell of chargrilling which wafts through the streets around this smart, glassy modern Turk has proven irresistible to many City folk, & the praise for its consistently good food – if not for the closely spaced tables or the friendly but overstretched service – is near unanimous. Grills are the mainstay, from the lamb shish on skewers to the Iskender with yoghurt & tomato sauce on pitta & the sirloin or pepper steaks served with chips. That said, there’s a big fish & seafood selection & plenty to keep vegetarians happy, from imam biyaldi to moussaka. Wines include a couple of Turkish offerings among the Old & New World selections, or there’s Efes beer. A second branch opened recently at Plantation Place (tel: 7929 3173).
