More gracious than some of the barbecue caffs & lahmacum (Turkish pizza) parlours in these parts, the speciality within the old-fashioned interiors of this long-standing Turkish restaurant is fortifying tripe soup. If the thought of lamb’s tongue broth doesn’t appeal then there are several mixed grills, kebabs & oven-baked meat dishes, though vegetarians needn’t be deterred – there’s also a generous array of mezze. It’s all supremely tasty, especially the knock-out bread, plus it’s a handy late-night haunt serving up food until dawn.
