Square Meal Review of Loungelover ?

Now that copycat style bars are awash with theatrical props, it’s hard to imagine the adrenaline rush when fashionable London first glimpsed Loungelover’s fabulous treasure trove of thespian artefacts, superior salvage & acid-trip brights. Needless to say, its cocktails live up to their mise en scène. Get to work on a lavender lady, flirt with the Prince of Wales, or ask the bartenders to magic up an alchemist (Calvados, caramel, cinnamon & pear charged with Prosecco). Wines are reasonably priced, Champagne costs from £9 a flute, & the Japanese menu includes all the usual suspects from sushi & sashimi to black cod in miso. It may not be a red-hot ticket these days, but fans still feel the love for Loungelover.

    It's worth visiting Loungelover for the decor itself! It's an eclectic mix of east meets west. The sashimi was fresh and the soft shell crab was crisp and juicy – perfect. The only downside is the price of wine which was a little high starting at 19pounds a bottle! Loungelover is one of my favourite places to go but expect to spend up!

    Have been here many times for after work drinks, but this visit was with a group of friends celebrating a birthday.
    Again, we didn't come here to eat, just to drink the fabulous cocktails. The cocktail book is vast & all they are described to perfection. All arrive at the table with a wow factor, colours, fruits & edible flowers.
    The atmosphere definately improves as the evening progresses. We arrived for 6.30pm & it was very quiet. Staff are very attentive & friendly. The interior is eclectic & a great talking point…disco balls, stuffed animals. A great place to check out, even if it's a little off the beaten track.
