Square Meal Selections

Square Meal Review of Spice Trader ?

Cheap & largely cheerful, this basement curry house delivers a standard list of high-street staples in reassuringly presentable surroundings. It’s as handy for a relaxed curry fix as for smart-suited business entertaining. Don’t expect any shocks or surprises on the menu, which covers seekh kebabs, onion bhajis & samosas, before alighting on chicken dopiaza, lamb pasanda & a host of tandoori specialities. Duck shashlik with grilled tomato, onions & green pepper is about as interesting as it gets. Vegetarians should be able to put together a meal from the various side dishes.

This place is awesome. Standard menu, but that's what you want really. If you want “slow roasted guinea fowl with a curry jus over a compote of rice and…” this isn't the place for you.

if you want healthy sized portions, cold beer, good efficient service, in a non fancy (underground) place, then this is for you. Get involved.

The last review gave it 5/10 for the worst curry ever. Not a bad score for such a bad event.

I love it and go there frequently.

Loving the sag paneer and the pesh.

Quite possibly the worst Indian I have come across. The menu can be described as boring and the food is plain bog-standard Indian fare cooked to a rather mediocore standard.
