This basement bar seems to take its design cues from 70s’ motels, South Pacific tiki culture & honest 60s’ kitsch, yet somehow it works. It may look playful, but Trailer Happiness is serious when it comes to producing the finest cocktails using top-quality ingredients. A piña colada boasts a blend of three rums (Myer’s, Sailor Jerry & Koko Kanu), while a blood & sand is made with Asyla whisky from artisan producer Compass Box. Given the sourcing credentials, prices are extremely reasonable with most cocktails just nudging £7. If you prefer your drinks neat, there’s an incredible range of rums from around the world, plus wallet-friendly wines & beers. Salty bar nibbles (spicy squid, nachos) are on hand to encourage drinking, & DJs spin tunes in the retro-style booth at weekends.
