Square Meal review of Mango Room:
Don’t be put off by the crowds of goths & under-age party kids who hang around outside the Mango Room, because inside it’s a lively, warm Caribbean restaurant. Three rooms feature a combo of blasted-brick, brightly painted walls, quirky artwork & big flower displays, with a reggae soundtrack. The colourful cooking features Caribbean greats such as curry goat, jerk chicken, ackee & saltfish, but there’s plenty of other food for thought. A delicate coconut milk & pepper sauce accompanies grilled sea bass, & roast honey & ginger duck breast comes with sweet potato & juniper jus. Much thought has gone into the wine list which features food matching recommendations, though meals should really kick off with one of the rum cocktails.
