Marble Arch is gaining ground as a fine-dining destination but this spacious hotel restaurant scores points for taking a simpler approach. Modern Mediterranean along with some jazzed-up hotel classics is the name of the game on the menu, so you could start with tuna carpaccio with cucumber & horseradish cream or prawn & crab cocktail with mango & avocado, & follow up with Gressingham duck breast with stuffed cabbage, chanterelle mushrooms & salsify, or grilled Dover sole with parsley butter & new potatoes. Sandwiches, pizza & burgers are also on offer at lunchtime. Given the location, prices of around £15 for a main course are good value, while France & the New World are to the fore on a mostly sub-£30 wine list.
