Sitting somewhere between a diner & a brasserie, the revamped, renamed Terminus has seen its hitherto sprawling food offer stripped back to basics. Gone are the skewers & tapas, & in has come a snappy menu of no-nonsense brevity. Three salads, two soups & a single pasta option are supplemented by burgers & sandwiches & a short selection of starters & mains: Stilton & leek tart with herb leaves & pear chutney followed by Gloucester Old Spot ham with apple sauce, for instance. The quick & easy approach is all well & good, but pricing is a tad ambitious, with starters kicking off at £9, sandwiches weighing in at £13 & mains at £19 – which is quite hefty, even for the City. The functional but attractive decor & long bar are largely unchanged, but for a light brush-up.
