Square Meal review of Zen Spice Market:
Criticisms of ‘average food’ & ‘dated’ decor have obviously been taken on board by the new management at Zen Spice Market, which has completely refurbished the menu & interior. Gone are the Mongolian barbecue & Chinese buffet of old, to be replaced by a sensibly priced Asian tapas menu of dumplings, satay & fishcakes, plus a selection of sushi & sashimi from the sushi bar. Located within Marylebone station, but with its own street entrance, the long upstairs dining room is fresh & modern, with a black tiled bar & funky yellow leather couches. Fans of Zen’s old takeaway shop next door will be glad to know it still remains, cranking out plastic tubs of hot & tasty noodles to time-pressed commuters. A young, trendy crowd in the underground bar sips cocktails & watches flat-screen TVs blaring out MTV.
