The Yard

The website for this popular, split-level drinking den, located behind iron gates away from the main drag, features a bevy of beefcake, naked save for their pants. In truth, The Yard is less ageist & less about musclemen with attitude than most Soho gay bars – the mixed crowd even includes punters who are not as Young as Will. Draught & bottled beers are consumed in heroic quantities here, as the blokes mingle in the kitsch, all-weather courtyard (lit by twinkly fairy lights) & in the attic bar above (complete with slouchy sofas). Easy-drinking wines & a concise collection of girlie cocktails are also available. Give the place a bit of notice & they’ll even lay on canapés for a special party night – perhaps your 40th birthday.
