Wódka is a ‘true gem’, housed in Kensington Palace’s former dairy. Behind the genteel white-stuccoed exterior lies a warm, welcoming & romantic Polish & eastern European restaurant. Start with a classic chilled beetroot soup, a platter of smoked Polish sausages & toast or blinis, & progress to the wholesome & generously proportioned mains. While lighter fish dishes such as pan-fried sea bass with kohlrabi or baked halibut are offered, it’s wise to make for the hearty traditional dishes such as beef & sausage goulash with potato dumplings, pork escalope, or a choucroute of bratwurst, duck & sauerkraut. Service from the restaurant’s ‘amazing staff’ is of the highest order & if you’re ‘looking for trouble’, the private basement dining room is ideal for holing up with a group of friends & working your way through Wódka’s infamous 40-strong vodka list.
