Since arriving on All Saints Road in 1997, Uli has established itself as one of the most popular neighbourhood gaffs in Notting Hill, thanks to its polyglot pan-Asian food & impeccable service. The all-purpose menu runs the gamut from pot-sticker dumplings & spicy tom ka gai (Thai chicken & coconut soup spiked with galangal) to warming Malay lamb curry & steamed Singapore chicken via crispy duck pancakes, moreish salt & pepper prawns & Pacific pork ribs, with ballast provided by salt-fish fried rice or pad thai noodles. The ever-welcoming Michael Lim is generally on hand to advise on your selections; in particular, it’s worth enquiring about his latest ‘turnip’ dish (actually mooli). The only downside seems to be the difficulty of securing a table in the cosy, split-level dining room.
