The Manzi brothers have clearly nailed how to run a neighbourhood fish joint, as a loyal clientele has been packing their Finchley stalwart to the gills for over 20 years. A distinctly traditional affair, the menu focuses on piscine classics such as salmon fishcakes or Arbroath smokies, but the major attraction is the fresh fish, available battered or coated in matzo & then deep-fried, though weight-watchers can go for the healthy steamed option. The wine list may not be extensive but experienced staff keep a genial eye on proceedings. If you don’t fancy a sit-down dinner, nip in to the takeaway next-door for classic fish ’n’ chips.
