The Twelfth House is the brainchild of an astrologer who themed the restaurant according to the lores of the heavens, a New Agey influence hinted at by a fondness for velvet furnishings & made explicit in the zodiac pamphlet given to every customer & the option of having your tarot read. Meals follow a set-menu format (two/three courses for £14.50/£19.50) & are mercifully astrology-free, though Pisceans may feel drawn to the salmon teriyaki & Cancers to the Thai crab cakes; otherwise, expect simple stuff such as Parma ham & figs, steak & chips & homemade ice-cream with fresh fruit. The little garden is a delightful spot, though avoid this place on Saturdays: we can confidently foretell that its position on the well-trodden path to Portobello Market will ensure that it gets packed to the gills.
