Square Meal review of Tatsuso:

Smart & upmarket with its sober colours, black leather chairs & air of subdued quality, Tatsuso is the Lexus among the City’s Japanese restaurants; its decor lacks any strong visual identity but it has enough luxurious ingredients – & hair-raising prices – to ensure no-one could ever mistake it for a run-of-the-mill Toyota. Menus ascend in price & extravagance quite rapidly; from the relatively humble £52 Katana – which nevertheless includes fillet of Angus beef or duck breast – & the high roller choices kick in with Kobe beef at £76.50 for 200g. The most expensive Ran menu (£99.50), meanwhile, includes half a lobster & turbot among the epicurean delights. This being Broadgate, whatever pain the sub-prime lending crisis may have generated, there are sure to be expense accounts aplenty to swallow that sort of cost with ease.
