Following a recent decorative refresh, fiery hot orange is now the dominant colour at this simple but stylish modern Thai, & it’s an appropriate choice for a restaurant which, fans believe, manages to fuse robust spicing with culinary subtlety to impressively authentic effect. There’s much that’s familiar here, from the pad thai to the green or red curries, but for a more offbeat meal opt for a soft-shell crab with chilli starter or a main course of pork marinated in cherry brandy & stir-fried with spring onions & chilli. Meat-free options include veggie versions of Singapore noodles & aubergine graprouw – aubergine stir-fried with soya beans, chilli & basil leaves.
