The Sea Shell Fish Restaurant

Despite a relatively recent refurbishment, you sense that not a lot has changed at The Sea Shell in over 30 years. Melon stuffed with strawberries & orange segments kicks off the menu, while cod & chips is still a firm favourite, though its £11 price tag is very much a sign of the times. For something fancier, there’s a good selection of grilled prime fish, served with lemon & herb oil, garlic butter, hollandaise or salsa, as well as large salads for those looking for a lighter option. Beware the terrible artwork & hideous gold fish on the walls & be prepared to wait – service can be slow when it’s busy. If time is tight, try the takeaway next door.
