Look beyond the rather foreboding exterior & faded decor & you’ll discover a hidden gem that is the lone Spanish restaurant in Stockwell’s Little Portugal. The diverse local clientele know to forgo the back restaurant, with its mediocre a la carte, & the stick to the front bar, where a no-frills tapas line-up includes excellent moist tortilla, juicy garlic prawns, piquant chorizo & knock-out lamb cutlets, all at very reasonable prices. But before ordering, listen carefully to the selection of bolder specials – suckling pig’s liver, mushroom stuffed with pine nuts & spinach – reeled off at some speed by one of the earnest staff.
