OK, so you’re not going to come here without children, but if you’re looking for some theme-park family chow, Rainforest Café beats a burger bar hands down. Once you’ve fought your way through the cuddly merchandise inside the door, you descend into faux undergrowth, past lurking life-size gorillas & giant butterflies with trippy flapping wings. It’s a huge place, with plentiful staff who are good on allergies & excellent with tempestuous toddlers. Children’s dishes include spaghetti with tomato sauce, dairy-free penne bolognese, meatballs, pizzas, & proper jelly & ice cream. There’s a long, American-themed main menu, too, offering salads, teen-pleasing BBQ favourites, chilli, noodles & ‘rasta pasta’, while a fair range of cocktails, beers & wines will help take the edge off the monkey noises & the thunder & downpour effects.
