Quadrato is run with the kind of attention to detail & superlative service that you would expect from a restaurant in a Four Seasons hotel. The plush, civilised interior with large comfy seats is complemented by some accomplished cooking from a kitchen that creates upscale interpretations of traditional Italian dishes. One of the chef’s specials is a squid ink tonnarelli with lobster ragu, which could be followed by vanilla-marinated sea bass with baby vegetables & lemon dressing, but be sure to leave room for a less-innovative, but exceptionally good tiramisu. A ripping Italian wine list delivers in all regions, though prices are steep & favour those with deep pockets. Saturdays evenings are devoted to seafood & jazz, while the Tuscan Sunday brunch offers roasts, seafood, terrines, cheeses, homemade breads & creative desserts. Also note that a special summer menu is being offered throughout July and August priced at £25/£28 for two/three courses.
