At Planet Hollywood, the idea is that you become the star. A plasma screen outside relays live feeds of excited children inside & as you climb the stairs you’re ‘papped’ by the camera flashes of the paparazzi wall frieze. The huge space is divided into themed rooms filled with film-related ephemera: the horror room; the zebra-striped Legends room, a homage to black & white movies; the more private Bond room; & the main room with its plasma-screen wall. The vast scale of the operation means that service is stretched & the middling quality of the all-American fare (think Cajun shrimps, fajitas, Caesar salads, surf & turf, burgers) takes second place to the decor. To drink, there are milkshakes & smoothies for the kids, beers, shooters & movie-inspired cocktails for the adults.
