PJ’s still manages to pull a full house every weekend with its Euro-meets-US brasserie vibe, party atmosphere & polo-themed interiors (the owner is an enthusiast), but ‘rude’, slow & inept service is starting to elicit some heavy flak from readers. The food also has its ups & downs, although it’s handy as a ‘last-minute choice for a quick-ish meal with friends’. On offer is a global menu that draws inspiration from France, Italy, the States, & everywhere in between, with please-all dishes ranging from the house burger & chateaubriand to bowls of chicken Caesar salad or roast duck with Chinese spinach, honey-glazed plums, soy & mirin. Seasonally changing cocktails are the main event most evenings during the week, while Sunday brunch is a popular call with local families & bleary-eyed clubbers.
