Under new management, the Perseverance appears to have switched its focus from gastro to pub. Don’t get us wrong, you can still get a decent plate of food here, but simplified menus offer up sharing platters, bangers & mash, fish & chips & sandwiches, rather than the full three courses of yore. The two-storey venue has recently benefited from a makeover & now sports flock wallpaper, chandeliers & elegant mirrors, providing a more stylish setting to enjoy the range of draught beer on offer. The small upstairs room is great for private parties.
