Square Meal review of Podium Restaurant & Bar:
Following a refurbishment, the ground-floor restaurant at the London Hilton (previously the Park Brasserie) has reopened as smart & sassy Podium, decked out in light, contemporary colours & floral wallpaper & serving a modern European menu with a pleasing mix of simple classics & more unusual offerings. So while you’ll find the expected hotel-ish burgers & club sandwiches, there’s also black pudding & duck egg salad followed by wood pigeon with roasted salsify. An accomplished selection of desserts includes an inventive combo of black figs & caramelised pistachios & a rich chocolate fondant with cherry ice-cream, while the wine list has a particularly good by-the-glass offering.
