A big pan-Asian player on Canary Wharf, spread over two floors divided by a fabulous sweeping staircase, Sri Nam hits the local button by offering ‘white tablecloth’ & ‘street food’ experiences under one roof. Head to the plush upstairs restaurant for scallops with pumpkin & green peppercorns in rich curry sauce, ‘tiger cry’ (thinly sliced, flame-grilled beef sirloin with mint & coriander) or swordfish with cracked black pepper & lemongrass; elsewhere, good mee goreng was let down by flabby noodles, & roti pratha by ‘oomph-free’ sambal, but it’s hard to fault the lively vibe & reasonable prices. A buzzy café/bar in the basement offers flatscreen TVs, one-plate dishes & bargain bento-box lunches. ‘Nothing is too much effort’, confirms a typical fan.
