You can tell this venerable establishment is a one-off. The folk at Osteria Antica Bologna have a pride in their restaurant that few chain joints can hope to emulate. Expect good service, & carefully cooked traditional Italian food coming from a capable kitchen. The pleasantly rustic wood-panelled interior, with its wine barrels & iron fretwork, is a pleasant place to while away a couple of hours – preferable to the rather exposed pavement tables. Dine on calamari & zucchini fritti, or the Italian sausage of the moment, ’nduja, followed by well-made pasta (fresh pappardelle with chicken livers & sage is a good bet) or the likes of lamb shank with red onions & balsamic, accompanied by something from the all-Italian wine list. The place deserves more customers.
