As restaurants & food trends come & go on Northcote Road, this dependable trattoria stands out as a relic to relish. Its nooks & crannies appear to preserve its dark-wooded authenticity, when actually it is the menu of Italian classics – homemade pasta with various sauces, Parma ham with mozzarella & figs – that are most pleasing & genuine. There’s plenty to feed the curious as well: duck carpaccio with garlic & rosemary, veal fillet in balsamic with Tomino cheese & marinated shark steak with citrus & mango salad. The inexpensive wine list is 100% Italian & so are the friendly staff.
