Square Meal review of Original Tagines:
This refreshingly down-to-earth restaurant has built a loyal following of regulars thanks to its excellent Moroccan food. Rather than opting for an elaborate North African-themed decor, it tempts diners with the quality of its cooking, aided by friendly service. Starters are good, including briouats (filled filo parcels) or Morocco’s famous pastilla (chicken pie), but the star of the show is the lovingly-cooked tagines, with diners able to choose from combinations such as lamb & pear or classic chicken with preserved lemon. With the kitchen cooking slowly & carefully, this is not the place to come if you’re in a hurry. But if you want to enjoy a relaxed, leisurely meal with friends, it’s a winner.
