Sugar Hut

Sugar Hut is more an achingly trendy night spot than a Thai restaurant. Moodily lit interiors are packed with exotica from Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia & Morocco. The restaurant itself is a striking, candle-speckled space offering heavily priced, fashion-conscious dishes such as black cod wrapped in banana leaf with mango & coconut flake salad. A range of set menus offer better value, featuring predictable but fairly well-made dishes of tom yum soup scented with kaffir lime leaves, stir-fried prawns with garlic & black pepper or grilled chicken in coriander & soy sauce. Most, however, make a beeline for the bar where lounge beds & Asian-flavoured cocktails make this glam spot come into its own.
