‘A fantastic old-fashioned fish & chip restaurant’ it may be, but North Sea certainly doesn’t reel in the punters with its faded pink & dark wood interior. Its appeal is more to do with the ‘massive portions’, ‘homemade sauces’ & the tasty fish, which doesn’t necessarily come from the North Sea these days, but includes hunky pieces of haddock, cod & plaice wrapped in crisp batter & served with proper chips & mushy peas. For non-piscine tastes, there’s grilled chicken, & for those who choose to sit in rather than take away there are kindly priced wines & beers, & a friendly ambience fostered by welcoming staff.
