North Pole Piano Restaurant

The North Pole consists of three distinct parts: a basement nightclub, a ground-floor bar/terrace serving gastro snacks & the first-floor’s Piano Restaurant for more elevated pursuits. There, plush curtains, dark walls & chandeliers hung with tiny goldfish bowls create a fanciful setting for modern European dining. Starters mostly in the £6.50-£7.50 range outclass their price, a lovely truffled homemade linguine with artichoke hearts, pancetta, asparagus & garlic cream being but one example. Mains range from risotto of roasted field mushrooms, leek & asparagus spears to grilled, peppered tuna. As for entertainment, the Dean Martin evenings may have been put on hold, but a pianist serenades diners three nights a week. A wine list covering all points of the compass keeps the North Pole firmly on the map.
